Maria Fernanda Zerón-Rugerio
Dr. Zerón-Rugerio holds a Bachelor degree in Nutrition and Food Science from the Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla in Mexico), a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Metabolism from the University of Barcelona, and a Doctorate degree from the University of Barcelona.
She is currently a Post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Nutrition, Food Science and Gastronomy at the University of Barcelona. Her research is focused in Chrononutrition, where she studies the effect of sleep, meal timing, and circadian rhythms in body weight and dietary intake. She has published 9 original articles in high-impact international journals indexed in the JCR, is the author of 2 book chapters and has participated in more than 25 national and international conferences, of which she has been invited as a speaker on 11 occasions.
Dr. Zeron-Rugerio combines her research activity with teaching. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition, Food Science and Gastronomy at the University of Barcelona, where she participates in 3 courses of the Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, the Degree in Food Science and Technology, and in the Official Master's Degree in Food Development and Innovation. In addition, she is a part-time Professor at the Universidad de las Americas Puebla in Mexico, where she has taught more than 14 theoretical and practical courses in the Bachelor of Nutrition Sciences.
