Título
ADHERENCE AND CARE RESULTS IN PATIENTS UNDER TREATMENT WITH POSITIVE PRESSURE FOLLOWED BY PHYSIOTHERAPY PROTOCOL
Introdução
Sleep apnea and its consequences such as cardiovascular and neuropsychological changes have been a constant target of studies in order to uncover better therapeutic paths and facilitate the routine of patients and health professionals.
Objetivo
The correct follow-up of patients undergoing treatment with positive airway pressure and the care management of the therapy can be predictive of better results and adherence. When associated with technological resources that aim to facilitate this process, the outcome can be even more decisive, as proposed in this study.
Métodos
In the present study, from June 2021 to July 2022, the assistance intervention with follow-up of Physiotherapy was analyzed with 45 patients, monitored with gradual frequency at 1, 8, 15 and 30 days.
Resultados
The sample consisted mostly of men (71%), aged between 50 and 59 years (27%), with marked initial AHI, diagnosed in 68.75% of male patients and in 61% of patients in the women. After an average of 4 months of treatment using positive airway pressure and a follow-up physiotherapeutic protocol, in addition to a monitoring and adherence application, 87% of patients, men and women, migrated to normal AHI and the remaining 13% were diagnosed with light AHI.
Conclusões
The results found suggest that greater care in the follow-up of treatment and after acquisition of equipment intended for intervention with positive pressure have an assertive relationship with regard to better adherence and success in the programmed supervision of physiotherapy and resources destined to technological support.
